Universal Tennis Academy (UTA) at Bitsy Grant hosted its first, but definitely not last, Pre-ALTA Party. Over 70 players attended the event Thursday morning, August 24.
UTA pros organized drills for all the participants starting at 9:00 am, with supervised match play from 10:00 am to noon. At noon, a catered lunch from “Peach of a Party” was served.
“The Bitsy Grant Pre-ALTA season event brought together tennis enthusiasts from many Atlanta neighborhoods and demonstrated all that is great about the sport of tennis — challenging drills with excellent pros, high level match play, and delightful social camaraderie,” said Pamela Watson.
Fellow attendee Jennifer McDonald agreed. “The Bitsy Pre-ALTA kick off was a perfect way to start our season. Highly organized and inclusive. We had great coaching and even fun prizes and giveaways. It was a great way to expand your tennis network too!”
In addition to tennis and food, the event featured a raffle, with donated prizes that included gift baskets from Peachtree Orthopedics, an hour-long stretch/massage session from STRETCH Kinetics, and over 7 hours of lessons from Bitsy Grant pros. Alyssa Xedus from Wilson Racquet Sports also provided demo racquets and prizes for all the players.
Player Suzanne Nickerson summed up the feelings of both event organizers and attendees with her verdict: “The Pre-ALTA Party was a smashing success! It was such a great way to kick off the season.”
