Friends of Bitsy Grant Tennis (FBGT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to enhance and improve the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center (BGTC) for the benefit of current and future generations of Atlanta tennis players. The FBGT works closely with the City of Atlanta, the BGTC staff, the Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy, and the expanding FBGT membership base to identify opportunities to improve the tennis center for all who use it. Our Work
In July 2011, FBGT finished a 1.3 million dollar renovation (click here for a budget breakdown) of the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, thanks to the support of the City of Atlanta and hundreds of community members and businesses. With that top priority project completed, FBGT hired Cindy Cheatham to create a Strategic Plan to guide the organization’s next steps.
Since then, FBGT has celebrated the tennis center’s 60th anniversary. FBGT is also now partnered with the newly formed Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy (AMPC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit created to develop and implement a Master Plan for the property that contains Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, Bobby Jones Golf Course, and Atlanta Memorial Park. Current AMPC Master Plan drafts can be viewed here.
